Surname/tag: KNSM
Biography
The goal of this project is to gather more information as to where my family sailed to during their empolyment with KNSM (Koninklijke Nederlandse Stoomboot Maatschappij), or Royal Dutch Steamboat Company.
Right now this project just has one member, me. I am Jan North.
Here are some of the tasks that I think need to be done. I'll be working on them, and could use your help.
- Find any direct records that show ports of departure, arrival, vessel name crew lists etc.
- Overseas employees of said company
My limitations are that I live in Cape Town so am unable to visit museums that are not accessible on line. My Dutch is also limited to the spoken word.
My Grandfather, Herman van Zonneveld worked overseas in Panama and various other areas as a manager I believe.
Will you join me? Please post a comment here on this page, in G2G using the project tag, or send me a private message. Thanks!

And Louis Antoine van Wamel here on WT is said to have been captain with the KNSM.
I added the Dutch Roots Project category to your page, and perhaps it's an idea to start a g2g for this project as well ? I'm sure people will love to help :)
Greets from the Netherlands,
